After nearly three decades as a partner at Western Elms, we wish John Connor all the best in his well-earned retirement which starts on 1st December. We know he will be sorely missed by staff and patients alike.

Replacing him as full-time partner on the same day, we welcome Dr Simon Pettitt, whom many patients will already have met over recent weeks, when he has been providing a much-needed extra pair of hands in the medical team. All patients previously registered with Dr Connor will be transferred to Dr Pettitt's list from 1st December.

Thank you to all 450 people who completed one of our surveys recently.  If you take a look on the patient group page, the report is now published.

We have received some very positive feedback and are extremely pleased with how positive patients have been about the service we offer here.  Equally some comments have been made where we can improve what we do and we will be looking in to these so that we can make things better wherever possible.  We promise to respond to every comment made by you ... good and bad ... however this will be over a period of time.

    Thank you once again.

Happy New Year to all of our patients.

As part of our New Year initiatives, we are carrying out a survey to review our appointment system and make changes to our new Internet site.  We are very keen to receive your feedback.

In surgery everyone will be offered a questionnaire until the beginning of February.  All of you who have very kindly offered to be our friends via email should have received one this week. The results will be collated by the Patient Group on your behalf.  The outcomes will be published on the website and within the surgery.

We are dependent on your feedback to enable us to improve things for the future.  If this is successful then this may be one of many to get your opinions.  If you think there is something in particular that we should be reviewing then please let me know.  We may not be able to do everything but we welcome the challenge.

We are coming to the end of our stock of flu vaccines now.  If you have not had a flu vaccine and are in an at risk group ... please, please contact us at the surgery to book in.  We are calling people and sending letters to invite people.  If you do not want us to contact you, please call and advise us so that we can take you off of our lists.

Unfortunately BT had a fault in their exchange yesterday causing lots of problems across Reading. It was repaired early this morning.  A knock on of this was that our telephone system has crashed also.  We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone.  We have been working hard all day to restore the system however it is taking longer than we first anticipated.  We are now able to take your calls but may try and call you back with any issues that may take a little time to resolve so that we can free up the lines.  Once again, please accept our apologies and our assurances that we are working to get back to full speed as soon as we possibly can.
