When we are closed

If you need to access medical care out of hours, ring NHS 111. This number is free to call both from land lines and from mobile phones.

NHS 111 provide cover for all urgent primary care requirements from 6:30pm – 8am Monday to Friday, from 6:30pm on Friday evenings until 8am on Monday mornings and all day on Public Holidays.

If you need treatment out of hours, NHS 111 will contact the local out of hours provider WestCall directly on your behalf.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

If you feel you need support with regards to your mental health outside surgery working hours, please contact the Crisis Team on 0300 365 9999.

Extended GP access during evenings and weekends

Western Elms, Circuit Lane and Tilehurst Potteries practices work together as a cluster to offer our patients additional appointments in evenings and weekends:

These appointments are offered across all three surgeries and you will be advised at the time of booking where you will need to go. Sundays and bank holidays are still covered by Westcall by calling 111.
